Brew Ridge Trail

Beer flight

Craft breweries are becoming increasingly popular with each passing day. It seems like every time you turn around another one is popping up! The Brew Ridge Trail draws attention to the six breweries that are located around the Charlottesville area that not only offer great beer, but beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Ages 21 and up will definitely be most excited about all that the Brew Ridge Trail has to offer, but if you happen to be the designated driver or underage you're in luck. Each brewery not only offers great beer, but awesome meals that bring new meaning to the term "bar food". Also, if you're an avid hiker who loves to quench your thirst after a grueling uphill trek with a cold one, a lot of the breweries are nestled within the Blue Ridge Mountains close to well-known trails and are totally used to hikers bellying up to their bars.

Things to Know Before You Tour the Shenandoah Valley Breweries

  • Half of the breweries that belong to the Brew Ridge Trail are located on Route 151 in Nelson County. This is a long strip of highway that features breweries, a distillery, and a hard cidery. It also offers easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway if you are interested in the scenic route and possible hiking trails.
  • During the warmer months, free live music is often provided by the breweries on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The specific date and time information is listed out on their websites and updated weekly.
  • The Omni Charlottesville is located within easy access to all of the breweries that are featured in the Brew Ridge Trail. We are even within walking distance of South Street Brewery, which is one of the lucky six.
  • Our Concierge can provide you with a Brew Ridge Trail map and help you in setting up your transportation needs for your tour.
  • Our restaurant, The Pointe, serves some craft beer that is provided by local breweries who are apart of the Brew Ridge Trail, so you can taste what Virginia beer has to offer without ever leaving your room!
